The ICCU at Walsall Manor Hospital is an 18-bed facility managed and staffed by a large multidisciplinary team. It brings together the Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) and High Dependency Unit (HDU) within the former West Wing main entrance.

The completed project ensures that patients who are critically ill or who are more highly dependent are treated in the same place, at the same time. This enables patients to move more smoothly between different levels of care.
