Design Buro was commissioned by Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership Trust (CWPT) to provide Architectural Services for the demolition of 8-9 Sycamore Crescent providing new built Autism Low Secure (ALS) accommodation that is fit for purpose and complies with current Health Building Standards.

 

The new ALS Unit consists of a single storey building along with associated landscaping and fencing. It was designed to create a loop of circulation within the building, improving the efficiency of the buildings internal operations. 

 

The new unit incorporates the following accommodation:

 

  • 7no. self-contained single person flats for use by patients, one of which will be design to be fully accessible for a range of needs. The flats have connection to individual private gardens. 

  • 1no. seclusion suite with associated observation. 

  • An assortment of patient day spaces and therapy rooms, of varying sizes and specification, with connection to external gardens .

  • Offices and welfare spaces for staff. 

  • Reception and interview suites for admissions and visitors to the unit.

 

The proposed new unit was designed to create a loop of circulation within the building, improving the efficiency of the buildings internal operations.
