The Design Buro (Coventry) Ltd was created in 1991 with the clear objective of creating a practice with a more accessible approach to design, procurement and building. It believes the successful delivery of a building is through the customisation of our service to the clients needs.
There are four key principals of our service to the clients needs and organisational structure namely teamwork, ownership, choices and value.
This not only includes members of the design team, but extends to the client, user groups and the main contractor. For teamwork to be successful there needs to be a clear structure in which each member is valued.
Our job is to maximize the client’s aspirations within the budget available this will require a managed decision making process. In order for the correct choices to be made we will ensure the client is presented with audited options at each stage of the design process. We will not dictate solutions.
The principal benefit in using The Design Büro (Coventry) Ltd is our ability to add value during the design and construction of a building.
We ensure the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
Examples of adding value are;
The challenges that were raised during the project were overcome by a stunning team effort by everybody and I wanted to record my sincere thanks on behalf of the Trust and the Radiology team.
The resulting environment is both beautiful and, importantly, safe for vulnerable patients.
It has been a privilege to work with the team on the new facilities. In addition to being extremely good architects, their ability to understand some of the more specialised aspect of mental health design has been excellent. The team’s creativity, engagement and facilitation skills underpin their professional integrity – a delight to work with.
The Centre epitomises our vision - outstanding care, transforming lives. The staff who will work here operate to exceptionally high standards, with a passion and enthusiasm dedicated to delivering the very best care for the people in our local community.
I have always been impressed by their desire to get to the bottom of every problem, understanding the client and end user concerns and requirements and tailoring their proposition and/or outputs to suit. I have chaired some turbulent meetings where Design Buro have soothed and controlled the stakeholders around the table and concluded the meeting with positivity from all involved. I have also found that Design Buro are an outfit that can satisfy both aesthetic agenda and functional agenda, with architectural solutions that have flair but also pragmatic and functional design at their core.
