We are pleased to announce that the new £1.6 million new PICU extension located within the Harplands Hospital will be handed over shortly.

The development forms part of Ward 1, located within the Harplands Hospital Site, Stoke on Trent. The wards at Harplands Hospital provide overnight facilities for the admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of mentally ill patients.

The scheme has provided a 6 Bed PICU Ward and other internal reconfigurations of Ward 1 to meet spatial and capacity requirements. A Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a type of psychiatric in-patient ward.

In order to accommodate the gardens and extensions,  alterations to the existing roof were made to better tie in with existing and 2) Ensure the height of the eaves cannot be climbed by patients.
