We are excited to announce that works have commenced on the brand new £2.3 million Brownsover medical centre and associated community centre on behalf of NHS England, Coventry and Rugby Clinical Commissioning Group and Rugby Borough Council.
NHSE and the C&RCCG have confirmed that the proposed site is in an ideal location for a building to offer general medical services to patients in this area. It is intended that the facility on the site of Bow Fell, Brownsover, Rugby, would accommodate one general practice. There is population growth projected in the area and the CCG has agreed with NHS England (West Midlands) that the health centre should be able to accommodate the additional capacity in the area.
The vision for the new GP premises is one of a centre which offers a range of GP services in a purpose-built primary care facility. The building has been designed in a way that offers:
- flexibility in how it is used and configured so that it can accommodate different operating models
- easy to navigate and get around
- a welcoming environment
- a modern clinical environment that meets all legislative requirements in relation to infection control, DDA compliance and privacy and dignity. The CCG wish the health centre to be a visible focus for health services in the area, creating a viable alternative to hospital attendance. To do this it believes that the centre needs to be in a prominent position, close to transport links, offering services to meet the needs of the population.
